Learning Horse, Module 1 and 2, Online – entry level – lesson 5
Learning Horse integration modules 1 and 2, offered online in a small interactive group (max 4) creating a dynamic setting with space for everyone’s own daily life situations.
Lessons will be held on Saturdays (10:00-12:00 CET) and are dedicated to those of you who are interested in understanding the horse-perspective, as first Learning Animals/Animality Studies course (entrance level).
Contribution: 600 Euro for both Module 1 and 2. The following is included: 6 lessons (12 hours), individual follow up by email between lessons, a textbook (PDF), and the Sparta Association membership (32 Euro) for 2022.
Module 1:
Animal Ethics in the interspecies relationship
Understanding otherness, The basic principles of the Animality Studies, The meaning of relationship between animal and human, Cognition, emotions and relationship, The socio-cognitive approach, The horse today: new insights from the horse point of view, The human today: from a different point of view, Ethics, ethology and the Learning Animals philosophy.

Principles of Cognitive Ethology and the necessity of an an5speciesist Ethology
History and aspects of ethology and cognitive ethology, The cognitive ethology of horses, as subjects and as species, Horses and wild equids, Equine cognition, The dominance hierarchy myth: what is wrong? Herd dynamics and relationships , Nuances and details of behavior, Social behaviour: the affiliative dimension.
